LincPlus N2 + LincOS: The Definitive Storage Solution for Content Creators (Stop Overpaying for Cloud!)
If you are a YouTuber, podcaster, or content creator, you know the pain of “Digital Rent.”
I looked at my business expenses recently and realized I was paying a fortune to Dropbox, Google Drive, and iCloud. Every single month. As a video creator, 20TB of space fills up instantly. When you need more space on the cloud, the price doesn’t just double; it skyrockets.
This year, my producer Germán and I decided to change our strategy. We wanted to own our data, not rent it.
We have been testing the LincPlus LincStation N2, and it is hands down the best investment we’ve made for our workflow this year. It’s fast, it’s silent, and it runs LincOS, which makes managing files incredibly easy.
Below is my review of the LincPlus N2, why we chose it, and how to get the Black Friday deal.

What is the LincPlus N2? (In Plain English)
A NAS (Network Attached Storage) is basically a private cloud that lives in your house or studio. Instead of your files living on a Google server in California, they live on a drive on your desk.
The LincPlus N2 is a compact unit that looks like a piece of modern art, not a server. It holds up to 48TB of data.
Most NAS drives are scary to set up. You usually need to be an IT wizard. The LincStation N2 is different because it supports LincOS. This is a system designed for creators, not coders. It makes setting up your private server as easy as using an app on your phone.
5 Reasons We Switched to LincPlus N2
Germán and I received two units to test this fall. We installed our own NVMe drives (it takes 5 minutes), and after moving terabytes of 4K footage, here is why we love it.
1. It Ends the “Monthly Rent” Cycle
Cloud storage is expensive. If you need 20TB of space on a cloud service to archive your YouTube footage, you are looking at enterprise pricing that costs hundreds of dollars per month.
With the LincPlus N2, you pay once for the device and the drives, and you own it forever. There are no monthly fees. The return on investment happens in less than a year compared to paying for premium cloud tiers.
2. LincOS: Finally, a NAS for Non-Techies
In the emails, the LincPlus team asked us specifically to test LincOS. I am glad we did.
Many NAS devices run complex software like Unraid (which the N2 also supports if you are a pro). But LincOS is built on Debian and is designed to be simple.
- AI Intelligent Album:Â It automatically organizes your photos and uses face recognition to find people.
- Simple Interface:Â It looks like a regular desktop. You can drag, drop, rename, and move files just like you do on your Mac or PC.

3. Extreme Speed (10GbE Networking)
When you edit 4K video from Dropbox, you are limited by your internet connection. If your internet is slow, your work stops.
The LincStation N2 has a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port. This is huge. It means transferring data between your computer and the N2 is lightning fast. We can move 100GB of footage smoothly without waiting for hours. It feels like the drive is plugged directly into the computer, even though it’s over the network.
4. Seamless Remote Access (LincAccess)
One fear people have about leaving Dropbox is: “What if I’m traveling and I need a file?”
LincPlus solves this with LincAccess. It uses something called “reverse proxy technology,” but all you need to know is this: It just works.
I can access the N2 from anywhere without complex network configurations. If I am at a conference and need a video file stored at my home studio, I can log in securely and download it instantly.
5. Tool-Less Design & Silent Operation
We work in home studios. We cannot have a loud server fan humming in the background of our recordings.
The N2 is whisper quiet (under 35dB). It uses the Intel N100 processor which is powerful but energy-efficient. Also, the setup was incredibly easy. It is a “tool-less” design. We didn’t need screwdrivers. You just slide the drives in, and they lock into place.
Important: What You Need To Know Before Buying
To be completely transparent with you (as we always are at Feisworld), there is one thing you need to keep in mind:
- It is “Diskless”: When you buy the LincPlus N2, you are buying the console. You need to buy the actual hard drives separately. It supports M.2 NVMe SSDs (for super speed) and 2.5″ SATA SSDs/HDDs.
- My recommendation:Â Buy the N2 with the Black Friday discount, and use the money you saved to buy high-quality NVMe drives.

Final Verdict
If you are tired of seeing that charge on your credit card every month for storage that you never really own, the LincPlus N2 is your exit strategy.
It is sleek, fast, and thanks to LincOS, you don’t need an IT degree to run it.
