The audio recording above was done on September 22nd.
The message below was written on September 17th, right after I wrapped up the last docuseries interview with Seth Godin in Yonkers, NY.
As of today, I can finally say that we have shot most of the interviews.
This video can be easily overlooked. It’s just loading up our equipment, right?
Well, consider doing that 20 times and moving 500+ lbs of equipment every single day.
Now, imagine driving the largest van you can find in the streets of LA and Manhattan during rush hour, plus parking.
And guess what, we often had to re-arrange heavy furniture once we arrive at the shoot, just so we create the best looking scenes.
The list goes on…
Making a documentary is much LESS sexier than it sounds.
If I knew what it took to make a documentary, I don’t think I would have done it.
These new and old friends of mine made it happen. They mean no less than any of the guests who appeared in the interview. They are my rock, my backbone, my therapists on the road, my roommates who shared the cheap airbnbs with me.
We did the laundry together, sang in the car, made fun of each other – constantly.
We woke up at 6:45am every day and on the road by 7:30am all while living from our small suitcase of clothes and personal items.
Starting September and October 2018, I’ll be posting a series of blog articles related to the making of our first docuseries. If you are interested in learning more, please subscribe below. The YouTube Strategy and Monetization Video Library
